Lincoln Heights, built in 1945 with Civil War-era history, is part of DC’s initiative to create a mixed-income, mixed-use neighborhood. The 190-unit development, consisting of eighty three story walk-up buildings, was outdated. Citadel was selected by the DC Housing Authority to renovate 27 apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms. The renovations included replacing doors, kitchen cabinets, countertops, sinks, bathroom vanities, flooring, paint, windows, as well as updating plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
